So my family had about 4 months of really crazy times that started right after my little guy turned 2! The party was fantastic but I never got to document all the amazing moments of it here. Well Jay and I are healthy and our little guy is now 2.5 so I wanted to get all the pictures and details down as I remember them…
Here was my Sesame Street Themed invitation (pjprintables (ETSY):
The food was the typical Ellis Women cuisine for parties!!
- Pinwheels
- Chips with lots of dips
- (Spinach, Onion, Ranch)
- Veggie Tray
- Mini Pigs in a blanket with honey Mustard/Ketchup
- Fruit Tray
- Ham and Cheese Sliders
- Organic Milk and Juice for kids
- Oscar the Grouch Punch
- Adult beverages for the adults
DELISH!!
Gabriel was just in awe I think. He was wonderful!! He was rockin his 2 year old Elmo shirt and greeted his guests accordingly. He loved the balloons and hats and all the food of course.
- The dessert table consisted of my famous browned butter chocolate chip cookies
- Chocolate and Vanilla polka dot Sesame Street Cake
- Dorothy Fishy Marshmallow Treats (super easy)
- Polka Dot Cupcakes
- Chocolate Covered Pretzels or Abby Cadabby Wands
My little guy is the most amazing kid and I really never expected that it would be possible to be one of THOSE moms…You know the ones who are battling SMAD to make sure all things for him are perfect and that you are artsy and creative and great at everything. The past four months taught me a tremendous amount but the several lessons bubble to the top! The first and most important NONE of this matters!! Yup I said it, I will always do my best and I will always want to give my little angel a fun time to celebrate the most perfect day in my life but NONE OF IT MATTERS… What matters is LOVE, love for yourself to say it is OK not to be perfect because this little kid loves you anyway….PATIENCE….be patient with those you love and with your self…LIVE SIMPLY….it took moving out of this enormous house into a modest small 3 bedroom and purging most of our personal belongings to see what matters….why we are given this amazing life and how to make every moment count! COLLECT MOMENTS NOT THINGS….Jay and I are still working on it…but we strive everyday to live and be more simple….when I forget I look at this smile….how that one simple thing could do SO MUCH in my life…then I remember.
